Where your saved TikTok videos are

Quick answer

The videos you saved are in Favorites: in TikTok, open your profile and tap the Favorites tab (called Saved in some versions). Liked videos have their own tab on your profile, and a video you downloaded with Download lives on your phone, not in TikTok.

Who it’s for: Anyone who saved a TikTok and can’t remember whether it was the Favorite button, the heart or the download.

    Open your profile

    In TikTok, tap Profile.

    Tap the Favorites tab

    Some versions of the app call it Saved. It holds the videos you saved with the Favorite button, the one right below the comments button.

    Open Collections, if you sorted the videos

    On the same tab, Collections shows the ones you made. To make one, tap Create collection.

Favorite, like and download go to different places

“I saved a TikTok” can mean three things:

  • Favorite. Goes to the Favorites tab on your profile. Only you can see what you favorited.
  • Like. Goes to the Liked videos tab. Who else sees that tab is up to you, in Settings and privacy → Liked videos; the default is Only you.
  • Download. Lives under Share → Download and saves the file to your phone. If the option isn’t there, the creator doesn’t allow downloads.

The video isn’t in Favorites?

  • Check the account. If you use more than one account, each has its own Favorites.
  • Look at your liked videos. Plenty of people tap the heart thinking they saved.
  • Look on the creator’s profile. If you remember who posted it, open their profile and look there: far fewer videos than your Favorites.
  • The video may be gone. A favorite is a shortcut, not a copy: if the creator deletes the video, it doesn’t come back.

Keep what the video said, too

Share the TikTok to Munvi and it becomes a card with a title, a summary and what was said, in a folder by subject. Search finds the video by what was said, and the card stays with you even if the video goes away.

Does deleting a collection delete the videos?

No. The collection goes away, and the videos stay in Favorites.

How many videos fit in a collection?

Up to 1,000 per collection.
