How to find a saved video when you don’t remember its name

Quick answer

Start with the saved list of the app where you saw the video: Saved on Instagram, Favorites on TikTok, your playlists on YouTube. Then use what you remember — who posted it, roughly when, what the cover looked like — to narrow it down. If you remember a line from the video, search for it.

Clues that work

  • Who posted it. Opening the creator’s profile and looking there is much faster than scrolling through all your saves.
  • When. Remembering the time — “before the trip”, “early in the year” — tells you how far to scroll.
  • The cover. In your saves, the cover is what you see first. Remembering its color or the face on it helps more than remembering the subject.
  • The chat. If you sent the video to someone, it’s in that conversation — sometimes easier to find there.
  • Your YouTube history. In My Activity → YouTube History → Manage history, you can search the videos you watched.
  • A line. If you remember something that was said, search Google for it in quotes.

Find it by subject, not by name

In Munvi every saved video becomes a card with a title and summary written from what it shows and says, in a folder by subject. Search finds it by its content, and you can ask Mun: “that risotto video I saved”.

Questions

Can a saved video disappear?

Yes. Saving keeps a shortcut, not a copy: if the creator deletes the video, it leaves your list.

Can I see when I saved an Instagram post?

Not in the app. The export of your saves has the date of each one.
